Nineteen-year-old empath Muriel thinks being a freaky genius who projects her feelings onto others is the worst curse possible. When she can’t control it, she channels depression to her sister who slits her wrists. Overwhelmed with guilt and wanting to protect her family from her curse, Muriel moves to Madrid, Spain.

In Madrid, Muriel discovers her curse isn’t the worst that can happen. Shadowy creatures try to kill her by absorbing her soul, and she doesn’t know why. Creatures of light, called Luxben appear to help. With no one else to turn to, Muriel accepts their offer of shelter. Now Muriel is in the middle of an epic war that has been raging in the city for decades, without the human population noticing and between creatures that don’t even exist in fiction. What she desperately needs to know is why her soul is so special.

She shares an instant mutual attraction with the Luxben leader, Dalkiel, even though she sees his light is a dark glowing shadow. This attraction not only evolves into lust and love but into new gifts for both of them that they can’t explain.

As the shadow creatures escalate their efforts to find and murder Muriel, she learns that her ability isn’t a curse after all-- unless it’s the reason why Dalkiel won’t allow himself to love her. She has to convince him that their profound and passionate love is worth everything, even the blend of good and evil as they fight for her very soul.

I am going to start making reviews. I was afraid of doing them but now feel confident. I have to clarify I'm only going to review the books I love as a way to support the writers.

Today I’m going to talk about Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase a New Adult Romance.

I love romance above all but not just any romance, a good romance. This book has a great romance, a believable romance. It doesn’t have triangles or misunderstandings that come because jealousy. It’s a love story where both parts are confident.

Also I have to say that Samantha’s voice is great. She’s a believable character with lots of layers and it’s very interesting to see her grow in life, to fight her fears and to become a Duchess.
The male interest Alex is awesome, mature, gentle but very sexy and a prince. You can’t ask more!

The story was good and showed in depth how Samantha suffered to become a royal.

I absolutely recommend this book for you, if you love romance, steamy romance this book is for you.

Goodreads blurb

Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.

Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

Now go read it, you'll love it!
