Hi! I’m Anabel Gonzalez and I’m searching for a critique partner and a group of critique partners.

I have been a writer for 5 years now. I write YA and new adult, paranormal romance, contemporary, urban fantasy and dystopian. Also you have to know my native language is Spanish but I learned to read, write and speak in English at the same time I did with Spanish.

I like to read of all the genres, except horror.

What I search in a critique partner besides the obvious is a long term friend. When you give someone your writing for critique you’re giving part of your soul so you want to have a good relationship with this person, a person who knows you, what you like and want, and that is completely honest for your own good.

I would like to find someone willing to give in depth critique, including grammar, plot, character development, etc. I offer the same in return.

My current project ready for critique is a YA paranormal romance about an eighteen year old girl who has the ability to absorb and transmit feelings. She goes to Madrid to study psychology and to try to control her gift away from her family. She already made her sister try to kill herself for some feelings she absorbed on the street. But in Madrid she finds strange shadows that what to kill her and wonderful lights that want to protect her. So she has to find what everyone is and why she must die, while feeling an intense and complicate love for the leader of the lights. Although she suspects he is not completely a light…

I’m totally ready to submit in the amounts you’d like.

So if you want a friend and a critique partner that’ll be completely honest with you and will be there every step of this long journey email me at: anacasamadrid AT Hotmail DOT com.

  1. Hey! I saw your post on Deana's blog. I'd also like a group, I feel like that would be the best and easiest way to make real friendships.

I want someone who will talk to me throughout the process. Support me and kick me in the ass when I need it (cause I do sometimes). (I write YA, mostly fantasy)

    Here's my email- Gstac2006@yahoo.com
Feel free to sent me a quick email if you want to try to start a group together.

    Hi Anabel.

I really like your idea of starting a writing group, and I'm looking for something similar myself. I agree, sharing something to be critiqued is a daunting prospect, and for me I'd like to share my work with someone I've built up a relationship with beforehand. I also think having support prior to critiquing is important, as you can discuss ideas and encourage each other when writing is difficult.

It also seems like we write similar genres, all of my current and planned projects are either young adult or new adult, and most of them are paranormal or contemporary fantasy, with a few planned contemporary romances too.

Anyway, I've rambled enough. I just wanted to say, I'd like to join/ form a writing group with you, and Stacey who commented above me too, if she's joining. :D

So I stumbled upon your website while searching for you guessed it... beta readers and critique partners! I would love to be a part of a writing group if you are starting one and have room for one more. I write in contemporary romance/women's fiction (it's probably better categorized as new adult then anything though). I like reading most kinds of fiction, except horror... just not my thing. :)

Anyway my email is ava.jane.rush@ gmail.com I'd love to join! :)
